ANNIKA HAGEN


Annika Hagen has pursued writing in various forms since she was 8 yrs old. By the age of 26 she has amassed an array of completed works from published poetry & prose, to stage plays, cartoon scripts and feature screenplays. In 1999, her first feature-length script, Pink Paradise, was showcased at Pseudo Program’s ‘Blackrabbit Workshop’ in NYC. Before returning to Vancouver in 2000, she completed her second feature entitled Smashlight. Annika then attended the Vancouver Film School where her short script Jada, Green & Red was chosen for production. In 2001, Annika participated in the making of a short film that won 1st place at the acclaimed 24HR Film Contest. Since 2001, she has created 2 short experimental films and has written the half-hour short entitled Fork. After co-writing the feature comedy, Dirt; completing her third feature script, The Great Seizure; and finishing a complete rewrite of Pink Paradise, Annika delved into the world of animation; co-writing three ½ -hour cartoon scripts for the kid’s animated series "Being Ian" for YTV and carried her own ½ hour episode “See You at the Crossroads” for Teletoon’s upcoming teen animated series "Class of the Titans". Darting back to the other side of the spectrum, Annika is now in draft stages of her first, as of yet untitled, feature length dramatic horror.
