SCRIPT COORDINATOR – Studio B Productions 2003–2005
As the script coordinator at Studio B, I played the role of the “hard-drive / conveyor belt” for the story department. I was responsible for the scheduling of deadlines to the tracking of each script from development through to production stages, assisting the story editor and writers with any information throughout. For three full series and a handful of development projects, I served as the point-person for all notes between the broadcasters (YTV/Teletoon), the directors, writers, producers and consultants on the show. Other tasks included setting up conference calls and story meetings, taking notes in voice record sessions, working closely with the story editors to coordinate all script changes, and organizing creatives for show bibles."Being Ian" is currently airing on YTV and "Class of the Titans" will air this fall on Teletoon.
PROGRAM ASSISTANT – Vancouver Film School 2002–2003
An integral part of the day-to-day administration of the Film Program, the PA was responsible for maintaining monthly program and room booking schedules for student, instructor and part-time classes. As the Program Assistant, I also fulfilled the position of Receptionist for the Film campus, fielding all telephone and in-person inquiries from internal and external contacts. I assisted in the coordination of over 130 student productions annually as well as calculating all student attendance, maintaining student files, the film database, form & stationary supplies and staff tracking. In addition, the position entailed liaising with class representatives and numerous film & television industry contacts.
POST-PRODUCTION COORDINATOR – Legends of Hockey, Network Entertainment 2001
As the post-production coordinator, I was responsible for the scheduling of all post editing deadlines and show deliveries and played a fundamental role in the sustaining of solid communication between key post-production staff. Each ½ hour of the 26 part series had strict deadlines to which the coordinator was responsible. Fulfilling the role of personal assistant to the editor, I was also involved in the editing process itself. Logging and scanning archive photographs, liaising with the documentary series’ interview subjects as well as assisting in the rough-cut decision process were additional duties performed as the post-production coordinator.
ASSOCIATE PRODUCER – ChannelP.com, Pseudo Programs Inc., NYC 1999
As the Associate Producer of ChannelP.com, I was one of 8 individuals responsible for the creation and production of a web-broadcast, performance art oriented program which hosted both live and pre-recorded shows on Pseudo.com’s website. With guest artists like Willem Dafoe, Bebe Neuwirth, Taylor Mead, Saul Williams and many more NY spoken-word artists, I was involved in the facilitating, hosting and recording of the show, GoPoetry!. Contribution to the concept creation, shooting and editing ‘Zen Wednesdays’, a weekly experimental short series, was another participation of mine at ChannelP. Maintaining email & affiliate databases, web-site auditing, writing and disseminating weekly newsletters, chat hosting during live broadcasts of GoPoetry! and coordinating parties & monthly actor/writer workshops held in Pseudo’s SoHo studio were additional responsibilities integrated into my position at ChannelP.com.
FOUNDING DIRECTOR – SoapBox Productions 1996–1988
As Founding Director & Promoter of a small production company in Victoria, BC, I organized and carried out the operation of a series of local events and performances that took place over a two-year period. SoapBox Productions was concerned with the formation and exploration of a group of actors, writers, dancers and musicians and strove to construct a variety of forums within which to combine the artistic efforts of this community of individuals.
EDITORIAL ASSISTANT - Grove/Atlantic Monthly Press - NYC - 1997
As Editorial Assistant for Grove, publisher of nontraditional & countercultural text, I fulfilled a two-month internship opportunity during which I was able to perform an assortment of responsibilities including the writing of several jacket descriptions for books featured in the annual Grove catalogue. As Editorial Assistant, my duties included authoring correspondence letters and light editorial tasks. As well, I reviewed all of the unsolicited material submitted during my two-month interval and was responsible for the recommendation or rejection of each manuscript.
