sunday in london
everything is great here, mostly i've been all over the place taking busses in the wrong directions and getting lost, but i always find my way and that is the fun of it. yesterday scott, joel and i hosted a HUGE BBQ on their massive deck. their apartment is pretty swank, big, hard wood floors, all new, cedar deck, it's actually just like vancouver, or whistler. so funny. kinda wished i was in an old london pad, but it's very nice nonetheless. despite the ghetto and crack shacks surrounding their fortress.
so we bought cart loads of meats and veggies and turkish cheese at this amazing saturday market - the neighborhood (Hackney/Dalston) is predominantly african and turkish. odd. the market was almost the craziest i've ever seen, and so bloody cheap. tonnes of people came over, norweigans, brits, americans, canadians.... it was a riot. very windy day though. but a lovely time all around. photos pending my computer finding wireless. might have to wait for the hostel in rome.
i miss everyone more than expected, it's strange, in all my travels and long stays abroad, i've never really felt home sick, but right now i am. in a good way, but strange nonetheless. not home sick for vancouver, but for friends and family. i guess we've been getting closer? but this is the journey i signed up for and i plan on milking it.
i look forward to being a little more settled in my own pad in paris, then i can use skype to call and be online whenever i feel like it.
the time difference is a tough one to call, as i feel like calling always in the morning, and that's the middle of the night for everyone. i hope to get my phone working so i don't have to venture out to phone booths in the evening.
miss u all so much. big hug and kiss,
and yes, i think i must have had something to do with big ben stopping it's ticking on friday. you know me and clocks!

Jealousy, although a great sin is predonimant in my mind when i read about your travels. I want to be there BBQ-ing and drinking my face off with you in a land i'm SO effing unaware of.
Have you been to any bars in London yet? i'm sure you have... did i just ask that??...i'm an idiot(awkward).
I'm hoping that i'll be making a trip out your way soon. i'll see what kinds of strings I can pull. Being here with Andrea as she purchases her ticket to 12 days of freedom, i want to me there even more.
I miss your desk-side visits already. Be safe and take care.
